Gmail, owned by Google, is supposedly the most reliable email service provider, especially due to its features. One of the features that makes it a top choice of many for personal and individual purposes is the user-friendly interface. Other than that, Gmail offers its users a free storage space of 15GB. However, you can upgrade it to 100GB at $1.99 a month, or 1TB at $9.99 a month.
Even though Gmail is a popular email service, there are a few new users that slightly have a problem when accessing their inboxes. Though it might seem somewhat tricky if you are completely new to it, you will find it quite swift to access your account. So, what are the steps on how to check my email on a Gmail account? Here is a guide to help you.
Step One: Access the website/Gmail Service
Before anything, you will need to access the service on your browser. You will do this by entering gmail.com on the address tab. You will realize that it will redirect you to; mail.google.com. Don’t panic because that is the official Gmail website.
Alternatively, type Gmail on the search tab, assuming that Google is your default search engine. After that, click on the first result on the page, which should be https://www.google.com/gmail/.
Step Two: Login to your account
Once you have opened the official Gmail website, you will now need to sign in to your account. To do this, click on SIGN IN, which is at the top right corner between FOR WORK and CREATE AN ACCOUNT.
When you click on SIGN In, you’ll be redirected to a new page that will require you to enter your email address. Rather than entering the entire email address, you can simply enter your prefix, and it will move to the next step.
For instance, if your email is email@example.com, you can just enter THATNAME without the @gmail.com. This is quite simple and time-saving.
After keying in the email address, you will be taken to a new page that requires you to enter your password. Here, you will notice that your email address is displayed in full, with the profile image of your account. Ensure that you enter the correct password to access your account.
Step Three: View Your Emails
When you have successfully entered the email address and the password, you will be taken directly to your inbox, where you can view all your emails.
If you have any unread emails, they will be indicated with a specific number in brackets beside the INBOX text. So if you have five new or unread emails, you will see something like this; Inbox (5). Also keep in mind that all the unread emails will be in bold.
How to access your account easily
Suppose you want to access your Gmail account in the quickest way, you can first choose the save password option, which will pop up at the right corner when you enter your password during signing in. However, only do this on your personal laptop or device.
You can also bookmark the Gmail inbox page on your browser. If you are using Chrome, click on the star on the end of the address tab, then bookmark the page with your preferred name and ensure that it is placed under the Bookmark Bar for easier access. This way, you will simply open your browser, and click on the Gmail link on the bookmark bar.
